Fractional CFO

Month-end pack automation, listed global organisation

Monthly pack completion took 1 to 2 days every cycle: trial balance pulls, reconciliations, variance commentary, pack assembly, error checking. An automated data pipeline now feeds a Claude driven Excel and PowerPoint workflow, with security and audit controls in place. Task time is down to 1 to 2 hours with narrative quality at parity or better. The build became the catalyst for broader AI across the finance function.

AI Implementation

Contract intelligence at scale, listed global organisation

Worked with the group's legal function to greenlight a domain specific legal AI, then deployed a contract summary tool covering 33 global client contracts across six critical commercial risk areas. Stakeholders went from near zero to comprehensive visibility on operational and commercial contractual detail within weeks. Materially improved audit findings, noticeable lift in client management quality, real revenue protected at pitch stage.

Advisory

Strategic acquisition advisory, growth stage SaaS platform

Evaluated two acquisition targets for a growth stage SaaS platform seeking to strengthen its data layer and expand its agentic AI capability. Compared the commercial case, funding structure, integration requirements and balance sheet impact of each option, then recommended the target offering the stronger proprietary data advantage at an acceptable cost.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What systems do you work with?

All major ERPs, CRMs and BI tools across the modern finance stack, and the AI platforms layered on top. I keep a curated view of the vendor landscape across every finance category at every enterprise size.

Do you bring tools or use ours?

Yours, by default. Strong preference for working inside your existing security, audit and compliance posture rather than introducing a parallel stack. The exception is short pilots where a vendor trial is the fastest way to a clean answer.

How quickly can you start?

Usually two to four weeks from first call to kickoff. Faster for tightly scoped advisory pieces; longer if a security review is needed first.

Do I need to be doing AI already?

No. The fractional CFO leadership aligns to the dynamics of your finance team. The AI work will meet you wherever you are, from “we haven't started” to “we have a few experiments and they're not landing”.

How much of the AI work is yours vs my team's?

Whatever balance fits your maturity. I'll do it all in early stage clients with no internal AI capability. In organisations with a tech or data team, I work alongside them — the finance fluent counterpart they don't have in house.
